Discover Portugal’s natural beauty: canyoning in the heart of the country

In Portugal, canyoning is becoming increasingly popular, and rightly so. The country has some of the best canyoneering spots in Europe, with crystal clear waterfalls, stunning rock formations and natural pools that will take your breath away.

The activity involves descending steep canyons using various techniques such as abseiling, sliding and jumping into natural pools. It is a thrilling experience that will test your physical abilities and give you unforgettable memories.

Our guides

Tugar has been working with experienced  guides for years. They know the canyonings like no other and have good insight into the possibilities and limits of the descents. Moreover, they are very experienced in guiding participants and will ensure that everyone, regardless of their experience, enjoys the canyoning. Of course, the safety of participants always comes first!

Our guides provide all the materials and equipment.

Tugar offers canyonings in the Arouca Geopark, the Vale do Vouga and Ribeira da Pena.

Best time for canyoning in Portugal

The best season for canyoning in Portugal is from May to October. During this period, the weather is usually sunny and dry, so the water levels in the canyonings are low.
